Had a a great time Monday with three generations of the Bryant Family. The elder Don lives in Spring City. John and his son, Will, were here visiting.
We got a late start due to some miscued directions in the GPS. And like an idiot, I'd forgotten my cell phone and couldn't call them when they hadn't showed up at the appointed time. emoBang
I wandered around and ran into a kind gentleman, Craig, on the Chester Frost Fishing Pier who let me use his phone. About the time I called, the Bryant's showed up. Craig said he checks in occasionally on CFF... here is a big emoThanks for helping me out!
But we were fishing by 9 am. We put our 30th keeper crappie in the boat about 1 pm. But with all the short crappie, yellow bass and bluegill, Will spent most of those four hours hopping from rod to rod. Will managed one TARP fish. I believe a good time was had by all.
Most of our fish came from 6 - 9 feet of water, and the bite actually improved as the day went on and a hefty wind began blowing into the back of the bay. A friend reports today however, that the bite was way off there this AM. Go figure?
But John had some fileting to do when he got home and I suspect the Bryants have had, or will have, a fine fish fry. That means life is good and gettin' better every day.
