After a month-long break from the action (see <a href=http://www.chattanoogafishingforum.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=86228&posts=7&start=1>this thread</a>), Scenic City Fishing Charters is back in action.
Saturday I had the honor of escorting Bill Pelfrey and his friend, Larry Hatcher. Bill fished with me in early October and we had an awesome day! What a difference a month makes. emoBigsmile Saturday wasn't quite so awesome. However we did not get skunked. Bill and Larry put several quality fish in the boat, and Bill told me before the trip that, "Larry has never caught anything bigger than a bluegill."
We easily broke that curse (SEE: https://youtu.be/AcBlGNCCRsk). In fact, the highlight of the trip for me was when Larry picked up a bowed down rod and shortly said, "I think it's hung on the bottom." I took the rod for a moment, handed it back and said, "No Sir. Reel in your fish." I love it when that happens. emoThumbsup
Sunday's trip was donated to a TWRA Fishing Rodeo. Brooklyn Davis won the trip, and brought her Dad, Jeff, along. Fortunately for Brook, the cats were a little more cooperative than the day before. After we caught some hefty bluegill for bait, she and her Dad did battle with a good number of blues and the occasional channel cat.
At one point Brook decided she was going to keep one of her catfish, and release one of her Dad's in exchange. Watching her try and get the hefty blue out of the livewell (See: https://youtu.be/Uz5SiIqLNVM) was more fun than watching her catch one out of the river.
It was a great trip, and one I hope Brook and Jeff will remember for years to come.
