Brent Frazee is an award-winning Outdoor Writer for the . Brent has been at the outdoor writing biz for 35 years. We met when I was at a writer's junket on the <a href=http://rheareview.com/white-river-a-trout-fishing-dream/>White River in April. He told me he was headed to East Tennessee for a a meeting of the Outdoor Writers Association of America and sure would like to try out our catfishing.
I told him I sure would like to take him.
Monday was the day.
A fishing guide is always nervous in the AM, wondering if you can find fish. I'm always especially nervous when I have a writer on board. emoEek Pressure! Writers of course want to catch fish, but more importantly, they're looking for a "picture fish."
On the good side, I actually get to fish, and even reel them in. emoAngler
On the better side, Brent and I started and within two minutes I put a 17-pound blue in the boat. Ten minutes later I hooked up with a hard-fighting 25-pounder. Ten minutes and two picture fish in the boat. As Brent said, "I love it when a plan comes together."
It was a good thing because it was all downhill from there. Not really, we caught about a dozen cats, totaling about 100 pounds, but they all came in the first two hours. Then I made the silly error of "leaving fish to find fish," hunting for a BIG kicker. Didn't happen... but no matter. Brent had a great time, got some great pictures and was highly impressed with his morning on the Mighty Tennessee River. I believe Scenic City Fishing will get some good ink in Kansas City. I am also betting there will be some more "chicken breast converts" brought into the fold. Brent also shot a lot of video for their web page. That means life is good and gettin' better every day.
Of course he was doing all the picture taking.... I snapped one obligatory picture of him so this wouldn't be a fish tale. I'll share whatever Brent does whenever it comes together.
