Adrian Lomax came over from Memphis for a visit. I'm catching a few crappie on the lake, but it requires "patience pills." I decided to head below the Dam in hopes of a little more action. We fishing 1/16th oz. crappie jigs, and drowned a few (very) large shiners from Jack's Bait & Tackle.
It was a good call. We had plenty of action. We caught mostly stripe, but we also caught crappie (just a couple keepers), spotted bass, largemouth bass, channel cats, blue cats, drum and bluegill. Adrian also caught his personal best bass (on a shiner). It weighed in at 5 lbs. even, which means life is good and gettin' better every day.
BTW, I also sliced my thumb on the gill plate of a stripe. It didn't look that bad, but I bled for an hour... I thought I was going to have to go get stitches. Note photo of my bloody pants... not shown is my bloody fishing reel and the bottom of my boat. emoEek Watch out for those gill plates!!!
