To my friends (those I've met, and those I haven't):
Just FYI... for those of you who might have occasionally searched for my byline in the Chattanooga Times Free Press Outdoors section... look no longer.
Budget cuts at the newspaper necessitated my "layoff."
I wrote the weekly Outdoors column for the former Chattanooga Times for 16 years until the merger. After a brief "forced" sabbatical, I was picked up by the merged Chattanooga Times Free Press, until now.
Getting newspaper ink on my hands from 1984 until 2009 was a good run.
With "some" additional time available... I hope to provide additional material on the Chattanoogan.com Outdoors page, beyond the wealth of material I'm already posting there as Editor.
I am very proud to be associated with John Wilson's very successful online newspaper. If you do not already subscribe to my "Outdoor Updates , I encourage each of you to send an e-mail to <a href=mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]</a> and say, "Please put me on your Outdoor Update List."
I try hard not to overwhelm your Inbox... but subscribers get one or two e-mails per week listing headlines of all the latest "Outdoor News" you'll find at http://www.Chattanoogan.com/Outdoors Here is the latest list:

Thank you for your support.
