THIS IS A REMINDER!!
Unfortunately I have a sad story to tell about a hunter who lost his life while riding a 4 wheeler in rough terrain in the mountains. I was told that he was looking for a place to hunt, riding alone and where no one really knew where he was when he had a bad accident. I appears that the 4 wheeler turned over and landed on top of him, delivering severe injuries. He was alone, he didn't have a GPS, and he didn't call 911 so they couldn't locate him via his cell location. He called family but didn't make it clear as to his location. Emergency Responders spent the better part of 4 days trying to locate the victim but was too late to save him when finally found.
ALWAYS, do not ride alone, tell someone where you intend to ride. If you can use your cell phone, 1st call should be "911" so that they can locate you to 1st Responders and it's a good idea to carry a GPS unit along with you. You might be able to help by giving your cords to help searchers.

Yes it is sad. With todays technology...we too often think....it can't happen to us. This should be a hard taught lesson, we are not invincible. My prayers to the family.

Terrible news. I always tell my wife where Im hunting or fishing and give here an ETA when I think I'll be back. THis is a very unfortunate incident.
