Awhhhh, the old SANDIEs as we called them inn Texas, Little George for the lure, cast & catch, lotsa fun. Top water when they are schooling on anything u can get to them, in Tenn. they are white stripe so u know how they are......Lake Lavon, Lake Lewisville, Grapevine just some lakes in Dallas area for sandies in the summer............ emoGeezer emoUSA

<font size="3" face="georgia,palatino">They are commonly known locally as "yellow" bass. Usually they don't get above and beyond 8 or 9 inches. Everyone is usually chasing whites so they don't get much attention.</font>

It is a local name for white bass, commonly used especially in Texas. (not yellow bass)

Yup, White bass. I was in Texas this summer and they kept talking about them, I finally asked for a picture, sure enough, White bass.

Sand and Whites are the same fish. What they are called depends on the region you live. Yellow bass are different and hopefully Carl is talking about them when referring to only growing to about 8-9 inches. Whites/Sand bass normally are from 1/2 lb - 1 1/2 lbs. But above average fish are in the 2-3 lb class. World record is 6 lbs.
