<font size="3" face="georgia,palatino">They are commonly known locally as "yellow" bass. Usually they don't get above and beyond 8 or 9 inches. Everyone is usually chasing whites so they don't get much attention.</font>
Sand and Whites are the same fish. What they are called depends on the region you live. Yellow bass are different and hopefully Carl is talking about them when referring to only growing to about 8-9 inches. Whites/Sand bass normally are from 1/2 lb - 1 1/2 lbs. But above average fish are in the 2-3 lb class. World record is 6 lbs.
