I thought that was the buck I have been hunting, but after looking at the pics its not the same deer

I can't see that scoring close to 170, but it is still a great buck! I have learned alot of these peoples deer scores are like fish weights, the people scoring and weighing them have big eyes. When a real tape from an official scorer hits the rack or that fish is hanging on accurate scales, most people are surprised. Like I said before though, it does not matter either way, it is a great buck and one to be very proud of!

No way its 170 b&c. More like 140. But its a unique mountain deer for sure!
Im not so sure about that churly. I personaly would have said no also, but that last picture tells all. That is some serious mass. I see 170s all the time with wide, long, skinny antlers. jmo

Nice Buck There, love the mass on the beams. Be thankful to have a buck that nice on the ground and wouldn't care what it scored. Besides you can't eat the horns! emoLaugh

It is a really good deer but here is about what it scores for those that don't know how you score a deer
Spread~14in
Main beams~21+21=42in and that might be a little big
G1~4+4=8in
G2~8+8=16in
G3~9+9=18in
G4~2=2+4in
You get 4 mass measurements per side. That deer probably has a 4in average mass measurement or a little more so 4*8=32
So that's a 135 to 140 inch deer. Not taking anything away from the deer but no 170

Points: 12
BC Class: 155-160
Beam Length: 22"
Beam Circumference: 4 1/2"
Outside Spread: 18"
Neck: 27"
G1/Brow Tines: 4"
G2: 11"
G3: 8"
G4: 2"

Here are 4 of my best from Tn.
4tndr.jpg

1st - 8 pt. - scores 118 (inside spread 16.5")
2nd - 8pt. - scores 117 (inside spread 18")
3rd - 12pt - scores 147 (inside spread 18.5")
4th - 8 pt. - scores 97 (inside spread 17.5")

All these are gross scores also. I had the 12 pt. officially scored and after all the deducts he ended up around 120".
