Hey gang, anybody know of someone that could sandblast my trailer locally? Fixing to redo the whole thing and then put herculiner on it and all new LED lights.thanks Taylor
There is a place on bonnie oaks just past Sportsman Marine that does the media blast. Doesn't leave sand in all the cracks. I don't know how expensive they are. Never used them.
hey Doc I may give you a call when I'm ready to start in a cpl of weeks, never done it before but sure I could learn and have a big yard to do it in,thanks
DD, btw you will need an air compressor to attach the blaster to, I guess you knew this but I wanted to let you know. I can't remember where I bought the blasting sand, some place in chattanooga.
There is a sandblasting pit, on 41 just as you leave east ridge going south towards Ringgold on the right hand side of the road .. cheap they are not, and they do use regular play sand, if you trailer is thin metal it could warp do to the heat involved in reg sand blasting, walnut shell blast or soda blasting doesn't produce the heat that silica and sand do.
But if you use a portable blaster they don't have the air power that big commercial blasters do , and will take longer but will be better on the trailer. Make sure you get some kind of primer on it IMMEDIATELY or it will start to rust , don't wait days or even over night .. you need to paint it within hours.. just in case you didn't know
