Put in at the Riverpark about 9:00am Sat. Caught a couple of slicks in the riprap by the country club. Ran downstream and fished the Browns Ferry area. Caught four more bass(3 largemouth, 1 smallmouth) flipping a plastic worm, all 1 to 2 lb fish. The current was very strong as all generators were running and boat positioning was a challenge at times. I did get my plastic worm hammered by a nice flathead catfish (5 lbs. or so) while flipping. Fish were well spread out, but the current made it almost impossible to be thorough in any one spot. Called it a day in mid-afternoon and headed in for a cold one. How'd anybody else do? JC1

I had planned on going into Roger's Creek but upon arriving it clouded up so we decided to stay fairly close to the ramp. We fished the Hiwassee around the series of small islands on the left side of the Gunstocker Creek mouth. The wind was blowing shad through the ditches between the islands and the spots were on the flats ambushing them as they came through. Using a soft jerkbait and spinnerbait we caught feeding fish while the wind was blowing. The laydowns on the back of the islands held good largemouth which I caught on a junebug Brushhog during the calm periods. At dusk, we did pretty well fishing toads paralell to the eelgrass and docks My best catch was a one-eyed 4 something on the brushhog...despite having one eye, he was extremely healthy. Oddly enough, we spent the entire day fishing in 2-3 feet of muddy water around the islands. I think we were in the area of Gunstocker that ranman originally referred me to.

I fished Saturday around the Harrison Bay area. Just trolled around throwing a spinner bait at the banks and flipping a brush hog in the brush piles. Didn't have any real success with either baits. Fished for 5 hours and only netted about 8 fish all at 1lb or less. Was just good to get back on the lake after a week long family vacation in Myrtle Beach.
