Explored section 1 this evening. Fish have definitely moved deep and there is a massive die off of shad. I have way too much footage of dead shad everywhere. There is a thermocline at 18ft and you can see it in the video. all fish are below it and are hunting near the bottom. I explored the middle of the water column and only saw one fish for a second. Nothing shallow. Fish are more dense on the bay side than creek side of this section. They are mostly in the stump and tree area just off to the side of the exit. I unfortunately taught some stripers to follow the rig and they were using my lights to hunt. Water is 41F high and 48F below the thermocline. Who put the cone at the bridge? There is a 6 ft dropoff around the bridge pillars and fish are on the ledge. So much to see and may try the other sections later. Max depth i read was 24ft.

Jeff, if you are still using this in towards the end of spring I'd love to see it around some offshore spots that the bass use to recoup after the spawn. It would be cool to see how many fish group up at that time of year.

That is so cool!! I could have used this several years back just around the corner from there. I was tying a tube on one rod when my buddy was ready to try a different spot. I must have clicked bell setting it down as we took off the tube hit the water and the set the spool in motion till it locked and yanked the rod out. I was heart broke, lost one of my matching green curados on a Joe Burns rod setups. We tried Carolina rigged dd22's for a while trying to snag it or the line with no luck and finally gave up.

I will, there are times when they stack up right you can catch them every cast for an hour when they first move off shore after the spawn and I have always wondered how many are actually down there.
