B-12 is a lot cheaper to use than Seafoam. Is there a big difference in them? I currently use Seafoam in my 1997 Mercury 150hp fuel injected engine. I was thinking about changing to B-12 due to the cost. Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.... emoScratch

b-12 has the same additives as seafoam plus a couple of more i run it in mine and have had real good luck with it i think it has made mine idle better when i changed the plugs this past winter they looked great

Ship Shape TV recomends the startron product in a lab experiment they tested the seafoam against the startron. The seafoam did nothing to prevent water retention or breakdown excess water. The Startron however prevented both. Don't know the price though but after seeing this I wouldn't waste my money on seafoam. www.startron.com

I use Mercury Quickleen. I have tried Seafoam. The Quickleen is a little cheaper. I buy gas that is supposed to be ethanol free and add Stabilize just to make sure.

I use b12 every now and then to clean out the engine. I use seafoam in the winter when i store my boat to take care of moisture and just in case some ethanol got in it. Everyone i talk to says stabil is a waste of money. I also run b12 in vehicles. I can tell more of a difference in boat performance with b12 than with seafoam.

If you do a search on here about B-12 you will find several discussion on the subject and many view and experinces.

Keep in mind that if your engine does not have any issues you will not see a difference when using b-12 or seafoam or any other chemical for that fact. At that point they become preventative maintenance. There has been several threads that I have reccomend B-12 to people with idle issues, boggs, ect and they have had great results. Just my .02 on the subject.
