Seeking good shore fishing spots for Bass and catfish

As the title says. I am looking for spots for good catfishing and bass from the shore. Went out this past Sunday with the expectation of fishing Lake Junior (had some suggestions that though it is a trout lake there is good catfish opportunities there). Sadly that lake closed on April 30. So I went to the river front. Only thing I caught were some Red Breast Sunfish so not the "adventure" I sought lol. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in the East Brainerd area but am open to other locations within a reasonable dostance to Chattanooga (and in TN as I do not have a GA fishing license). Thanks.

All along Riverpark is outstanding fishing on the banks. From the face of the dam, (pier is there) all the way to downtown has fish to be caught.

My buddy and I both hooked some nice catfish from the piers along the river walk last year, bigger then what we expected and exceeding our line limits, we got to see both of them but with them being 30+ lb fish we never got them on the bank from the pier.

Walk the banks at Booker T. and HBSP.

I second walking booker T. I went there on my break today(I usually do not get a break), and noticed plenty of LM bass getting up in the shallows.

If it were legal, and if I had it on me, I couldve easily caught many LM with a cast net. Also they would be easy pickings for a bow fisherman.

I will see soon whether they are biting on anything at the moment.
