Cheez and I got out for a few hours of catfishing this morning. We had a decent morning as 4 blues felt a calling into the ministry.emoSmile Altogether, if my old memory doesn't fail me, we caught 9 total. Nothing over 11 pounds. I had my camera with me and forgot to record these fish, but everyone has seen photos of 9-11 pound blues. The fish were caught mostly in the Harrison bluff area and the bluff downriver from that. Chicken livers, spam, and shrimp was the ticket today. I forgot to take my red hotdogs after setting them out.

The fellowship was better than the fishing. We had a great day together and I'm already looking forward to another day on the water with Cheez. I will be Crappie fishing with some of you before long. It will really be a treat for me to go with you. Looking forward to it soon.emoAngel emoGeezer

Good job again Drum .. did Cheez try out Fat Albert's pole today????

It did seem like a great day to be out and about. I'm totally looking forward to 3 whole days off and plan on going to the lake every one of them .. only to swim with the girls not to dip the rod.

:)

TT, the last time that I fished with Cheez we were doing the chicken test for Rsimms and he put it on me big time. 8-2. This time I let him catch all the little cats and get them out of the way for the 4 that we kept. We kept 6,9,9,11 pounders.emoGeezer

Well it had been 2 weeks since I got slimed and I was about to go into slime withdrawal. Just before Sallie was going to call the men in the white coats to take me away,Drumking reccued me and took me to the place of slime. First fish I caught was a healthy little 1 to 2 pound blue. Normally I wipe my hands off on a towel but it had been so long since I had me some slime that I wiped it on my pants. Thanks DK, the fellowship was great and the fishing was good too. The day just flew by.

Slime addiction is like CFF addiction, it's not a bad thingemoLaugh

I thought I saw you and cheez out there around the harrison bluff, but you were going to fast to be catching anything, around 12:00 noon today looked like you were going toward the wolf t. area. Guess that you had already had your fun and headed home. I was trying my luck at that catfishing thing. Maybe we can hook up and you can school me on a thing or two about those cats.

shocker

What kind of boat were you in shocker? We were just getting a little wind in our hair at that time. Or maybe I should say wind in our face. Neither one of us has much hairemoUpsmile Next time you see us flag us down man.

Actually, the sun came out and we were just cooling off by running to Wolftever. Just had to burn a little petrol.emoBigsmile We made a big circle and came back to fish another 30 minutes before we quit. We both had prior committments and had to get off the water. If you ever see a pro crappie bass tracker with an unpainted cowling on the motor, come on over and sit a spell. You can even tie up to my boat and fish while we shoot the breeze.emoBigsmile

I'd be glad to share the boat with you anytime that you want to go and our schedules will permit. I'm not the best catfish guide on the water, but my rates are reasonable. They are free-95. emoUpsmile I'm looking forward to Normandy with you. I got your PM and fired you one right back.

Hey Drumking,

Fall is fast approaching, what do the crappie do duing this time? Still pitching docks or do they move out to deeper water to feed?

Hey Drumking,

Jerdog, what I have found in years past is that the Crappie do almost the same in the fall as in the spring with the exception of spawning. I look for them shallow and when the minnows get going really good back in the creeks, coves, etc. the Crappie will not be far behind. I know that this is a great time for busting bass too, so always have a bass rod rigged up to take advantage of every possible way to catch fish.emoGeezer
