Bassmasters is getting all the credit, but there were lots of organizations involved to make this a success.
This was also The Battle of Chickamauga that has been hosted by CATCH and FishDayton for the last two years. The Chattanooga Bass Association joined forces in this one this year. Larry Brown helped land a few vendors. Boss Van Accessory provided off campus transportation. Dayton Boat Dock personnel were hoppin' for two straight days. David Lowrie from the TN High School BassNation helped keep things going as well. The real heroes are the Rhea County Homeland Security Team and the Rhea County Sheriff's Department. Sheriff Neal and his crew had that place hummin' over there like a well-oiled machine.
TowBoatUS gave a giant check for $1,000 to the highest placing finisher with TowBoat coverage.
Guess what. Next year The Battle of Chickamauga will hit year four bigger and better than ever. Guess who won't be here - Bassmasters. Guess who will be here - all the rest.
We are going to start planning in the next 6-8 weeks. If you want to be part of something for the future of our sport let us know. It's all about the kids.
FYI - this is a Christian event and we will be sharing a Bible-based devotion. The past two years we had some pros share their testimonies and this year we had one of the competitors share his testimony Friday evening.
