Shellcrackers

I'm wondering the same thing, any input anyone could give about the shellcracker / bluegill spawn is appreciated. I don't know for sure but I suspect that the main wave of spawning activity has come and went but with bluegill there can be beds up in June as they come in waves with each wave being fewer numbers. Any input is helpful, Thanks!

Location is key! A few weeks ago fish were very shallow due to the high water from heavy rainfalls.
But now the sunnies are both shallow and in water 5' or less and located in lanes and large open areas adjacent to weeds. At least that's the pattern in my lake.
Lure advice: slow retrieve and small soft plastics on 1/16 oz ball head jigs.

Thanks for the tips! Seeing your pictures (the perch!) made me realize you may be some distance north of us here in Chattanooga and our fish may have likely spawned while your location is just starting. How far north of Chattanooga is your lake?
