Shelter in Place issued for city of Chatt. Will be interesting if Hamilton Co follows.

The 2 have been in lock step thru most of this. Seems like it would be almost impossible to enforce if so and of course the boat ramps could be an issue. Crazy times.

Governor is issuing stay home orders statewide now. They will most likely close all state and county ramps

Cheater frost is closed as of noon tomorrow. All campers must be gone. Dont know what that means for the ramp but would not be surprised if its closed as well.

Will CFP BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY? The Ramp!!!!

Yep no fishing on weekends , but it's ok for me to work construction during the week risking my life and family's for the f--king bill collectors. Need to shut entire system including financial sector and get this over as soon as possible. Not right for some people to set at home safe and others have to work so somebody can make a buck.

I agree with you Billy. Would be way safer and better off for everyone to hit the pause button for a few weeks. I am way safer fishing solo than I am at work exposed to people from various nuclear powerplants. But the almighty dollar prevails always.

TWRA closes all waterways to recreational boaters. $500.00 fine and possible jail time.

After further review... the aforementioned could be an April Fool’s joke. Still researching

I haven’t seen anything official saying the ramps will be closed. If they are someone post a link please.

TVA, TWRA both say public ramps are open but recreation areas are closed.

Well now that the Governor has the "Stay at Home" exec order in place I wonder what the punishment will be for going to/from the ramp even if they are open...

Re: Shelter in Place issued for city of Chatt. Will be interesting if Hamilton Co follows.

It was clarified last night. the water and the woods are open. CFP will shut the camp ground down but ramp will be open to my understanding. If you will go to any of the mandates, whether it be state or local, they all mention outdoor activities. Im going turkey hunting. Unlike some people, I dont want to shut down completely. Ive never took a dime of government help and would rather work. When my job shuts down, that means trucking, transportation, and city services has shut down....

They are NOT closing all ramps!

Hey guys, how about posting the remaining open ramps as you find them. I am sure the few remaining open ramps will be slammed with fisherman and wake boats with 10 kids on them...plus rangers ticketing any trucks/trailers parked on grass.

Looks like fishing is an allowed activity since many water sports are mentioned in the governors order. Use common sense, keep your distance, gloves and face masks in places with people may be in order.
Yes, I saw a pontoon boat with a bunch of teenagers being lovey dovey, but who had common sense as a teenager? Where are their parents?
Be careful if you catch a coughing fish!!

You can interpret the Governor's order however you like. Regardless of what TWRA has stated (VERY MISLEADING) in that the waterways and woods remain open you are in violation of the order if you travel to them. "Basically the stay-at-home order means Tennesseans must remain in their place of residence. They can only leave for food, supplies, medical care, work at essential businesses or go just outside of their residence to get fresh air or exercise". The order further states: "The order will be enforced by way of instructing law enforcement throughout Tennessee to issue verbal warnings and/or citations to violators". I want to fish too! I want to turkey hunt too. I have a lease in Hickman County absolutely loaded with limb hangers. However, I will comply with the order and hopefully live to fish and hunt at a later day. Be safe.

This in on TWRA website: "Update from Chairman of the Tennessee Wildlife Commission, Kurt Holbert, "Governor Lee's executive orders 22 & 23 identify outdoor activity as an essential activity provided that individuals follow health guidelines. As the Chairman of the Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission, I want to assure all hunters and fishers that Tennessee"s turkey hunting season will open Saturday as scheduled and public lands controlled by TWRA will remain open. LIKEWISE, Tennessee lakes and rivers and the access areas CONTROLLED BY THE TWRA remain open to anglers and recreational boaters".

Traveling to an essential activity is permitted just like traveling to an essential place of work is permitted. We can fish as long as we follow the other social distancing orders. Sunlight and fresh air are good and kill pathogens. Party boats, indoor restaurants, etc are what would be bad. Bill Lee is making the distinction between the two, thankfully.

Worse case just say you are going shopping for food!!! FISH!!!!! lol I mean you bought the boat and tackle now you just want the fish you already paid for.. You are going to catch fish to feed your family so in a sense your going to the lake is going to the fish market!!!

Holly Circle in Soddy Creek was open today but is was more like Holly Circus emoLaugh

For what it's worth I did opt to fish today. No stops on the way to the ramp and never was within 50 feet of anyone. Since I'm retired I've been able to greatly reduce my normal routine and stay home without much trouble. But me personally - as long as I use some common sense and limit my exposure to others AND others exposure to me, I think everything's going to be OK. Fishing and turkey hunting are going to stay on my agenda until I'm specifically told I can't.

Don't flame me too bad.
