shimano 200g5

i just bought a new curado 200g5 last night at sportmans and i am going to return it today thanks to the side plate on the left side popping loose and even when its closed you can see daylight through it,is this a defect in this particular reel or are all the 200g5s like this. emoScratch

Scary for such a High Dollar Brand.. Hope it is only a rare single item defect. Handle a couple more in the store then let us know the outcome.

will do,but sportsmans took out their glass display case and put out a different setup similar to the one at accademys, they dont wont you to open the boxes but im sorry for them,if i get another one it will be inspected before hand.

those are not like the older E-5-E-6 or E-7.i wouldn't give two dollars for all the G series.i hope shimano don't hurt there reputation over this kind of junk.

thanks for the imput oldman,ive had several tell me the new g series is not worth the money so i guess when i take it back i will just get the abu garcia winch in the 5:4:1 ratio,im looking for a good spinner bait reel and i dont like the high speed reels i own a 6:5:1 and a 7:1 one i use for lipless cranks the other for flipping plastics and jigs.

don't get me wrong shimano makes one of the best if not the best on the market but not the G-series.look a round and find u a good E-5.if no body has one on here for sale go to bass boat central then to classified section and look there.

i used a lews that belonged to my fishing partner last weekend and it was sweet but to high geared,he had it set up on a 7;6 abu gracia rod a veneta or whatever its called.i loved the rod but it cramped my hand, i like the lighter rods. like loomis and the carrot stix.which i will never buy another carrot because i dont trust them. i also have a quantum smoke mh i use for worms and jigs, lol now im typing to much and going astray with my conversation
