Anyone know of any that don't require a membership? I'm looking for somewhere with at least 100yds. I usually go to the one on Hwy 136 by John's Mountain but would like somewhere a little closer.

Prentice Cooper WMA has a range , you will have to check the TN hunting guide for hours of operation but it is open to the public .

There is an old one below nickajack dam, probable grown up with brush but it used to have a high sand backdrop to catch the bullets, this is where I used to go and sift the sand for lead wad cutters to use to make sinkers with.

I will be going up the one on 136 sometime soon. I have a 7 Mag to sight in.

There is also a public shooting range in Lafayette. It's not covered or patroled. I like shooting pistols there, but I think you'd be pushing 100yds there. I'd say 80 max. I wish there was a long range around here. I'd like to do some long range shooting.
I like the Prentice Cooper one the best. The ranger there takes good care of the range. They have nice target backdrops. Just don't get caught out there with a shotgun. They don't allow 'em. I think I may ride up there wed. or thursday.

Used to be one at montlake near the skeet range, dont know if its still there or if its public
