It was such a beautiful day and it takes that to get my wife out there, so we did a short crappie fishing trip. We brought home 7 keepers for supper and caught 1 small spot, and a few bluegills. We had a lot of bites, but like the old fisherman said, "they were biting today, but they weren't swallowing". emoBigsmile Tubes, panfish assassins were the most popular lures for the fish today.emoGeezer

DK I know you and Ms Wanda had a great time today. The crappie for supper were just icing on the cake, what a beautiful day.
Thanks for the report.

What depth did the fish seem to be at today? Still the 6-8 foot range? How does your wife do with shooting? Were you mostly dock fishing?

Polo, they were probably around 8 feet or so deep. We nearly had to just dead stick the lures straight down. Many minnows under the dock and all around us and the Crappie were just underneath them. Wanda does a fair job of shooting the docks, but she doesn't set the hook when she gets a bite. She had several jerk the rod down and come off before she reacted to the bite. She did manage to catch 2 bluegills. I caught all the crappie.emoGeezer
