SI Problem

My SI picture goes from a perfect image to a very light blue screen that is of no value when I put the main engine in gear going forward?? When I shut the engine down my good picture returns. The transducer is mounted on the center lower transom centered with the engine. It only affects the SI the sonar works great. Is it turbulence from the prop and if I move the transducer to the jack plate maybe it will some my problem??

Not a expert here but does it do it while the motor is idling and not in gear? Also I would check your wireing to make sure the power wire is no losing voltage when the motor is running.

Not knowing what unit you have, it sounds like you maybe picking up some prop wash when you are moving.
