what is the best gps,side image on the market for $2000 in the market today? also user friendly. emoBang emoScratch emoWorthy seen and heard alot of stuff about the 998, and other models but i dont know the big diffrence in those, need some help . thanks for any help

should be able to get a Lowrance 7 or 8 and side scan for that or less. I think a new hds-7 is around a grand depending on the mapping you get and I got my side scan for 529$

This is coming from someone who has owned Lowrance and Humminbird. As far as User friendly is concerned, I think it will be hard to beat a Humminbird. Lowrance has some great stuff, but it can be pretty darn coplicated once you get into a lot of the features. I have owned a 998 for less than a week and have really only used it on one fishing trip. I am already very comfortable with all the features. As far as gps , that's all just an opinion same for the side imaging pictures. That's about as much as I can help. The most impressive thing about Humminbird is, you don't have to buy all the extra stuff to add on, it's already there. It's all just opinions, in the end just get what you are comfortable with.

Lowrance

Here is a threadI postedearlier, I have to 2 hds7's and Structure Scan. 1 unit has insight mapping and other is basemap, I spent around $2700 for all three and prices have gone down since then and they did have a bundle package but I'm not sure if the still the case.</p>

The Humminbirds come with all components in one package.
