Just coming off of a DC solo win with BF 2 weeks ago, I practiced last Tue and nailed a 3 3/4 off my spot on 1st cast and left. I was stoked all week and very anxious to get there Sat. I ran up from dam (lower lake), and made a diversion to a spot that was loaded with bait during practice and tried various technique's from carolina rig to hardbaits and not even a chaser. All the bait was gone too. 30 mins in and I ran to the juice only to find a yaker sitting on my hole. He began to brag about the 3 1/2 he just caught. I asked him if I could fish the spot cuz I was in a tx. He waved me in but it was too late. I caught a short one there and left. Thinking about this in advance- it was my worst nightmare- someone sitting on my winning hole, Dang! Tried some other spots and scratched out 2 small keepers pitching a spinnerbait . Wind came up and went shallow offshore with a lipless and caught several shorts. I then caught 2- 2.5's shallow on a spinnerbait in back waters shallow and managed to cull out my smallest fish. I caught about 12 fish with 4 keepers for the day. Best 3- 6.57 and 3rd place money. Other than the Yaker stealing my hole, my only other complaint would be the 2PM weigh-in. I found a hard bottom offshore lipless bite too late and had a nice upgrade jump me. Had to pull up and run in. Congrats to 1st and 2nd. Thanks to the committee for everything. Might miss the Classic due to family and travel. If I don't make it, see ya'll next year.

f*#king kayakers!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!! dont anyone get all butt hurt, its a joke. its becoming a more common thing to find kayakers in the areas we want to fish, just have to deal with it, still kinda sucks though

Correct, they do have just as much right to our waterways but, we don't have to like it. I guess it's a smaller footprint than arriving at your spot and finding a full size bass rig tearing up your fish... But either way... After this guy waved me in, he just had to get as close to me as possible to study my technique and see if and how I could catch a fish- salt in the wound!
