On the water at 1:30. Fished till 5:00 Got cold. Squeezed in a few hours before it got too cold for me to fish. I'm a lightweight when it comes to cold weather fishing. Caught 3 keeper bass and 3 slab whites. Oh, and 1- 5" bar fish. I'd say my best fish went 3lbs. Started out in a slough and caught 2 nice whites. Came out to main lake flat and fished clumps of hydrilla. Caught the 3 lbr on a 4" swim spin. Went to a large slough and saw some fish blowing up on shad. Caught 2 keepers on a 1/4 oz rattle trap. Also another white bass. Mostlt stayed on the banks but, Spinnerbaits didn't work. Then when the wind died, the bite quit. Nothing after 3PM. Looks like some low 50's coming back by Mon. Might fish around the rain.

I'm guessing it is because the bars on their sides or because they hang out on sandbars. People call them that in Texas

It is a legit name. In fact, strike king copied it to their DD series baits. I bought one in an XD8. And, KVD won the Toledo Bend event last summer throwing the bar fish color pattern XD8 or 10. I think the name came from the 'bar like' horizontal stripes. Bass Love 'em!
