I woke up this morning and it was pouringemoSmile no work, I'm going fishin. As most of you know my new to me used boat is in the hospital, no worrys, theres a old six acre dairy farm lake 3 -4 miles from my house that was loaded last year with monsters in the spring but was made aware of and got fished hard spring, summer and fall and the word was it was fished out. Well, it's not, I got there about 8:15am fished 2.5 hours in the rain with 12 - 15 fish when it was over, ranging from 1.5lbs. to 5.2lbs. it was raining so hard I didn't want to get my camera wet but I got a break and managed 2 pictures, a 5.2 and a 2.5. I had about 8 or 9 that came unbuttoned and one of them judging from his mouth could have took a grapefruit. There has been talk of draining this lake for a subdivisionemoScratch last year the biggest I caught out of it was a 6.8 I'll try to send a pic of it.

Boy .. that bass is light in color! Is it due to the weather? Looks like a fun little pond to play in though.

Nice post.

Bad weather for fishing though.

That 23 incher is a real beauty. :) Your pictures are good! Thanks for posting them.

I sure hope they don't DRAIN a lake with fish like that in it.

What weighed 6.8? The fish or the huge chaw in Pben's jaw!emoLaugh

Nice fish what did ya get 'em on?

Nice fish, that reminds me, I need to fish a private pond that I know of this spring. I doubt that it has fish of that caliber in it but it might have some good ones.

Last year I caught them on chartreuse/white spinnerbaits and also gold spinnerbaits. The ones I caught today came on a black spinnerbait with copper blades.

Very nice report there C-Liver. I am glad you joined CFF. That makes for some great memories for me. I fished a bunch of those Catoosa Co ponds. Somewhere I have some photos of some real lunkers that I brought home and unknowingly killed.
We lived on the property where the golf cource is on old Hwy2 right outside the battlefield and would ride my bike to the ridges in rock springs where I fished a swampy lake belonging to the former Carl Clark, (Ringgold Commisioner). On one of my trips I brought home on my bike two Bass hanging from the handlebars. Every time a car passed I would have to stop and show them off. They would get to swinging and caused me to wreck several times. I stopped at a little grocery store near Reeds Bridge where I used to weigh the fish I caught. One was 12 lb - 3oz and the other was 8lb - 10oz on certified scales. On one of the other trips I brought home a 7lb pound KY Black Bass to give to Hull's Taxiderm for a show mount. I was told by Mr Clark that all the bass in that lake were KY Black Bass. They were very dark in color with splotches a little different than the regular LM Bass. I did not know better but what could I do these days with a KY Bass that weighed 12-3. If I had only known then!!!

I hope it rains tomorrowemoEvil I'll fish small lakes and ponds till I get my boat back. I would like to go to guntersville, the boat I had before was not a bass boat and I was limited to the places I could go, but not anymore.
So if yall see a red 20' Randall Craft with a 150 black max motor on it, that'll be me emoSmile I can't wait, see yall on the water.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in one of our upcomming tourneys. That Randalcraft will peel them eyebrows back once you get her running!

Nice looking fish CL. I fish a private pond in the Ringgold/Chickamauga area. I caught a big ol nice one Sunday. I didn't have my scales on me, but I guesstimated it at 5. He looked alot like yours. (real light in color) I've been throwing a black baby 1 minus but I might try to give the ole SB a try next time. emoThumbsup

Churly, after the 1969 arrowglass with a 33hp motor I was trying to bass fish out of, I'm ready and long overdue for some eyebrow peelin actionemoSmile now I can fish some tournaments I don't know how I'll do but I can fishem.

Fishin junkie: they were caught in the Ringgold area.

Speaking of Ringgold ponds, has anyone fished the one on Potts Road? Looks like two small lakes?

I have not but I know exactly where your talking about, I go by there once or twice a week and think wow! I know of a guy that slipped in there and tryed to get me to go, now, I love to fish and some have said I'm crazy with it but I'm not gettin shot over a fish. He said they were some real logger heads in there.
