skip jack below the chick dam 4/13/2007

Went this afternoon and caugt about 15 skip jack in just a couple hours on a crappie jig. They are alot of fun to catch. They fight good for a small fish.

I would like to keep some of these for catfish bait but would like to know, do you filet them before you freeze them or just freeze them whole?

I freeze them whole. If they aren't in the freezer that long, they make a nice fillet. AFter a few months though, you should really chunk them as the fillets are too soft to stay on the hook that well. Just my own experience.
