skip jack?

When you catfisherman talk about using skipjack,How exactly do do you use them.Live? cut?Sorry to ask stupid questions,but i`m new to this catfishing thing.

Cut them up in chunks . I usually cut the head first and use it.( have caught several LARGE cats on the head) and then cut up the rest into about 2 to 3 inch chunks.

we chunk it up. I don't use the tails from about the anal vent down. out of a 16 inch skipjack I get 5 or 6 baits

12 to 14 inches is perfect. Hook right behind the dorsel fin and let him go! For best results, use a 3 alt wide bend, style 42 hook and a barrel swivel with a 3 ft. leader. If you are fishing in the spring, put a balloon 6 ft. above him. Good luck!!!!!!!!
