Skull Isl. crappie and spots 11-24

Went out by myself this morning. Put in right after daylight and fished till 3 pm. Caught 25 crappie but only had 15 keepers. The largest was 13 1/4 inches and weighed 1.5lbs. Caught 7 spots, 1 lm, 1 sm, and a dozen or so bluegills. Only kept 4 spots to go with the crappie. Tuffies,shiners, spoons, and 4 different styles of grubs was what everything hit today. One spot that was released was 2 1/4 lbs. All these fish were caught within 3 miles above and below skull isl.

Below the discharge at daybreak it was 54 degrees. At approx. 1pm. it was 57 degrees at the discharge. At 2 pm up in ware branch it was only hovering around 52-52 1/2 degrees. Checked at trolling motor depth.

Thanks Steve. Temps are 5-6 degrees warmer than last week.

Nice fish man. Were you trolling, casting, shooting docks? I tried trolling and bumping bottom yesterday with no luck.

Now that's a pretty spot. I'll bet that that one fought really well. That sounded like a great day on the lake.

I was casting docks that I knew had some sort of cover around them. Slip floats and #4 crappie hooks for some. Some were caught just casting the jigs around the docks and counting them down then just kinda slow hopping them back to the boat.
