ramp has always been opened, at least for all the years I lived up there.

Thanks for the replies. I've never been over there, but may be checking it out in the near future. Is the ramp close to any deep water, channels or dropoffs ? I found some 1935 pre-impoundment maps online. Unfortunately, they do not show the contour lines, but are useful, nevertheless.

Sure. The main channel isn’t far at all from the ramps and there are a couple of coves and flats on your way to it. Be careful though and the flat definitely has some shallow spots

What he said and you better idle out or better still drop the trolling motor and fish your way out if you have never been around skull island there are some massive stumps heading out to the river
