Got up this mourning ready to fish our tournament out of grasshopper, but only two boats showed up. Guess everybody was smart. Anyway my partner and I decided we had went through too much trouble rolling out of bed and hooking the boat up so we decided to crappie fish. Started out fishing the mouth of creeks in the area but was bombarded by CBA guys. At one time I saw 4 boats fishing the same creek channel. We decided to leave since we were not bass fishing and braved the ruff open water, which payed off. We ended up catching around 100 fish in six hours. Not all crappie but the majority. We kept 26 crappie and 3 bluegill. All fish were cought on a float and fly method without the fly, squirming squirts/chart, with a 12-14 foot leader. Water temp stayed at 40.1 all day and we fished in 18 to 20 foot of water. About every 4th crappie was a keeper. We ran into alot of short fish and could not find a certin depth the big fish were holding. It almost seemed lucky every time we caught a keeper. We also caught a couple good fatheads along with a stripe or two.emoHungry emoHungry emoHungry emoHungry
