My buddy Steve and I hit G-ville dam around 8:30 this a.m. trying to sniff out some stripers and catch some white bass. We made about 2 drifts in the tailrace throwing swimbaits and Steve hooked up with a good eatin' sized 7 lb.'r.... Right away I figured the bite may be 'on'...NOPE...around about a dozen drifts later I tell my buddy "I've been on a good white bass bite lately. Lets go get you some for the freezer",,,, WRONG!!! We fished hard for a couple of hours and boated a grand total of 4 dinkies. A good friend of mine showed up to the tailrace around 11 and hooked up with 3 stripers of the same size. About the time Steve and I decided enuff was enuff, my buddy headed down to the white bass hole...he just called and said we had left too soon,,, the whites had turned on and were biting with wreckless abandon. emoBang
ANYWAY, to make a long story longer....it looks like the salts are starting to show up in the tailraces and it souldn't be long before the bite gets a bit more consistent.
