Mike and I started off good. Not paying attention to daylight time, got to the dam at 6 AM. Safe light was close to eight, coulda used the missing sleep. Ran a short distance, and within ten minutes Mike puts our first keeper in the box. About the earliest we have had a keeper. Gonna be a good day. Keep moving, mostly by the wind, Mike puts our second keeper in the box, 4.3 lb. largemouth. Been fishing about 30 minutes. Spent the rest of the day chunking and winding without another keeper. Caught a few short fish, but not number three. Had a short on a crankbait. Had a number tap at the baits, just didn't commit. The wind picked up, making feeling a bite challenging, big bow in the line. Threw a senko, jig crankbait , fished mostly less than 10 fow. Proving occasionally a blind squirrel finds a nut, we ended in 1st, with about 6 1/2 lbs., and BF. Second was a 5+. We haven't won one of these in years.
Thanks to the committee for another good tournament, and the fellowship of the other CFFer's . See everyone in April.
