Thought it was a February tx. from the weather. Pretty cold running down the river. The moon was beautiful that morning, and the day did end warmer.
Mike and I hit spot one, and had a small non keeper in a couple of minutes. Got another in a few casts, non keeper. I hooked what felt good , set the hook, and broke off . Mike gets some weight , pulls back and loses a fish. Never got the hook into it, just the end of the bait. I break off again, it was gnarly where we started. Mike finally boats our first keeper. We move, and Mike gets number two on a c-rig, I catch more shorts. Move again, no fish. Mike gets number three, time to cull. We move several more times, and no keepers would play. Mike did end the day with two smallmouth, almost back to back. Both about 16-16 1/2". Weighted three for 6+. Threw Senko's, chatterbait, crankbait, brush hog, jigs. Senko's , brush hog did the work.
Enjoyed the chance for some fellowship after being cooped up. Stay safe. Thanks to the committee for another well run event
