Boat captain for Hixson high school bassers. Fished out of Dayton. Had Max and Ethan as my anglers. Started out with a good draw, #10, out of about 110 boats. Ask the boys if they bought lottery tickets with that kind of luck. Ran about a mile or two to Mud Creek, and about the third or fourth cast Max hooks up with a 2.5# on a shakey head. They were excited. Caught a few more short fish, and a catfish. Made a couple of unsuccessful moves. Went down by the highway 60 bridge. Max hooks another keeper, 4# on a Texas rig Senko. That fish goes under the boat, around the motor, under a log, gave Max a fit. Both Ethan and Max were catching fish down here, but just one keeper. Weighted in 6.51, which was a good bag for what was weighted before we left. Brentwood Academy had big sack , +22#. Don't know final results, didn't hang around for the rest.
If you have the time, I would invite the boaters to help these high school kids fish. Their enthusiasm and excitement makes you appreciate the chance we have fishing.
