The sun was out, about the last hour each day. Cool and/or rainy each morning. We did not have a stellar tournament, quite the opposite. Practices Friday, Mike out of Riverpark, me out of Sullivan's. Mike and Ed ( jigman on the forum) put together a good pattern. I did to pattern elimination process, where not to fish.
Saturday, we were part of the parade to Chattanooga to fish. Hit our first stop, small fish, no quality or quantity, move to another, nothing. Kept fishing different spots, working south, a few short fish. Finally around 10ish , a small keeper spot. Fished our way down river, passed the swimmers. Hit a few of my Friday unproductive areas and added two largemouth and a spot, about 12:30 or so. Jig did most of the work. Also threw a spinnerbait, crank, worm, senko, chatterbait and tried topwater.
Sunday, ran north , fished a slough, no keepers. Were in 4-5, and 10-15 fow in different areas. Again, crank, worm, chatterbait, jig, senko, spinnerbait, topwater, swimbait . Tried the river, nothing. Went south, got our only keeper on a "C" rig. Ran to the park for the last hour. Fished the grass. One descent blow up. Frog disappeared in the explosion, but not hooked up, kinda like the rest of our tourney. Finished with about 8#.
Congrats to Billy and Steven, fishing out of a tin boat w/ 60 HP. Put a whoopin on us, like the rest of the year.
Thank you to the tournament committee for all your work this year. See everyone in February when it starts again.
