Mike and I formulated a plan on the way home from the classic Friday. Headed out second group, and watched another boat come off plane at our first choice. Went to our second area, started slinging. Threw spinner bait, chatterbait, crankbait and a jig. No takers. Made a move after about an hour, back to our first choice. Mike puts a line squeaker in the live well with a chatterbait. It is about 8:45. Move a couple more times, no more fish. Move to another rip rap area, and I put number two in, clears 15" without a problem. Caught on a #9 Shad Rap, silver. 'bout as old school as it gets. It is almost noon.Within 10 minutes, Mike has number three on the chatterbait.. Move two more times, no culls. Finish fishing docks for the last hour, and Mike catches our biggest, and we cull. Woo-hoo !!!!!!!!! Ended up with 7.20.Won the out of the money prize, free entry to the next CFF. Last year we won it, and couldn't fish the next one. Everything was 6-10 fow, on a chatterbait or crankbait. Water was 52 -56.
Congrats to Earl and Ron for first. Thank you to the committee for another well run event. Thanks to Mark for providing the light at the ramp, made launching much easier. See ya'll in April.
