Started late this morning, launched out of Riverpark. Went to the dam, spent about an hour ,hour and a half caught one short fish. Lotsa minnows along the riprap and the bulwarks. Some surface activity, but no fish. Ran down fished along the golf course, plenty of current, ran my Minn Kota on 40 just to hold in place. Nothing here. Ran down past the bridges, and fished between the barges and the shore. Bingo ! Caught several small keepers next to the barges and the bulwarks they were tied to. The barges were ladened , down to 8 ', the depth was around 10-11'. Had to put the bait right in the crease between the barge and the bulwark. A foot or two off and nothing. Tried the steel posts and barges , nothing. I reckon the bulwarks had enough size to break the current. Did most of the damage on a Sweet Beaver with a 1/4 oz. weight. It would fall in the slack water, but was too light in the current. Was a very nice day to be on the river, no jet skis, cruisers, skiers, only about five fishermen.
