Planned on using the prefish from the CFF last week to start our day. Ran up the river. Mike started with a Whopper plopped,I ran a buzz bait. About third or fourth cast Mike catches a small non keeper. Fished the area, run further north. Start in an area , 20-25 fow. Throw our a Zoom red bug worm, get a hit, bends the rod over. I'm thinking a big smallmouth. Rod stay's bend, drag pulled. Danced around the boat, rod bent. Wasn't able to gain line, or pull the fish up. Big drum or a cat. Finally, got the fish up, 30-36 "(?) flathead. Keep fishing, Mike gets our biggest largemouth on a jig. I finally got a keeper spot on a worm. Caught fish for the next four hours, no keepers. Fished around Racoon mountain, we get a spot and largemouth in a 10 minute stretch. Those were our last keepers. Caught one on a jig, the rest on plastics, fishing isolated grass, or mat edges. Got warm enough, looked for the Good Humor pontoon we saw Saturday for an ice cream. Had four fish each day, ended with 13#.
