Good looking fish!!!. I bet she about pulled your arms off. What Lb. line did you catch her on? Catching smallmouth in the river on shiners is one thing, not easy by no means. But catching a 5lber in the lake on artificial bait is a hole new ballgame.emoThumbsup emoThumbsup emoThumbsup

Beutiful fish Rod!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me, what color spinnerbait do you like to use and what size blades do you use? Do you find that when you target smallies that you have to go to a smaller blade size than when you are fishing for bass?

I like white and gold 3/8---small #5 indiana hammered gold in cold water. I like the smaller blades for all species unless its night time. I'm not as patient as i should be so the smaller blades helps me to keep the bait down,or at least i feel like it does..

Fichnrod, that kind of fish will keep that smile on your face for some time, like every time you tell the story. Thats a really nice fish there big guy, congrads on catching it.

Man, fischnrod that is a NIIIIIIIIIICE fish. I'd have all the print worn off that picture from passing it around so much.

Now................you got to shoot for at least a 6 pounder. emoThumbsup

Sigh .. someday I hope to hold a fish like that.

When is the only question I got! Nice fish ... did you look at it to determine it's sex? :)

We really need to verify the theory!

I just assumed it was female, i read an article that the females were always bigger than the males. i've been reading the posts on that subject and i'll have to do a more in depth investigation in the future. emoSmile
