Smallmouth Guntersville 4/2/2007

Started fishing Guntersville at 1:00 didn't get a bite till 4:00 caught a 5lb 11oz. and a 3lb.2 oz smallmouth. I caught both on shiners using Gamakatsu Octopus Circle hooks size 4.Love those hooks.Caught both fish in @13 ft.Released both fish alive.

Great to hear that the good smallies may be picking up. Were you fishing live bait? What bait were you using? Were they in holes, eddies or on some other structural element?

I have been fishing Lake Guntersville for years and have never caught a smallmouth there. Where you up above crow creek?

Nice smallies!Ive got some spots on chick in the summer and fall where I catch the heck out of smallies on buzzbaits.I cant wait!

the dam. That steep bank just upstream from the cut and just north of the island screams SM!

There are several smallies caught right there at Goat Island... if you want some serious Smallies go down below the Dam on Wheeler.
