I got a smoker a couple of weeks ago and finally got to try it out yesterday. It sure is alot of work if you aren't cooking a whole bunch so I learned that lesson but here are a couple of pictures of the finished product.

Well how was it??

Lesson #1, get a bigger smoker.

#2, smoke lots of meat at one time, it takes the same amount of work for one butt as id does for 12 butts.

Freez the xtra, and enjoy for months!

Man, that looks good, must be lunchtime! Topping it off with a fine beverage like the Y-ling, doesn't get any better than that...

It was actually really really good. It was much better then some of the que I have gotten around town I have learned my lesson Spur that thing will have 4 butts on it or it won't be cooking.

This forum has no place for reports like this, you are killing me and I guess a bunch more folks. The least you could have done was invite all of us over to try it out.

Hey Craig,
Is that smoker a charcoal burner or electric, if you havent tried the electric I highly recomend it, im with you on the work part with the electric you add some wood, plug it in and let it roll for about 18-20 hrs great smoked tast hands free. get the one that does NOT have the heat control dial ,I think its a Brinkman but not sure..just resist the urge to open it for a quick look..

This was on a charcoal smoker and once the temps stabilized it was good to go. I think when I do it in the future I will start it on saturday morning at 7:00 and let it go all day. After I pull it from the smoker I will foil it with apple juice/cider and pull it sunday so I am not up at 4 AM.
