Chattanooga Ducks Unlimited took part in the "conservation" snow goose season in Arkansas. we had a great time with Bayou De view outfitters with guides Nic and Jimmy. We had a great hunt killing 140 snows on the first day and our second day was cut short due to weather, we still killed a total of 185 geese in a 1 1/2 days.

Clean as many as you can to eat and feed the rest to the hogs. This conservation hunt is about killing as many as you can to prevent federal biologists from poisoning these birds on their nesting grounds to prevent overpopulation. Reducing the number of these birds prevents them from eating themselves into extinction. This conservation season was started several years ago as an experiment for 5 years to see if hunters could effectively harvest enough birds to bring the Mississippi Flyway population to a manageable level. Jim Warden can probably chime in with more specific details. If you have never tried it, It is an absolute blast, and these birds are great to eat when grilled.

I was just wondering. I hunted for years all over the country. I know what it is to worry about dressing out 10/15/20 birds and icing them down for transport, so I just couldn't imagine 185!

Google "the bird hitch" and can see how you can clean abunch of birds in a small amount of time. We brought all the birds from the first day home and gave the birds from the second day to some other guys. No birds went un-cleaned.
