Combo report and club TX results.
Norris is about 1003 level or 17ft below full . water temps 45-49 after several hours of sun. 10 boats. Put in at Anderson County Park
Winner was Dennis Lewis with 2 LM weighing 4.09 #
Second was me and Dave Pittman with 3.98# 1 SM @3.18 for big fish and 1just keeper spot

We ran a short ways up the Powell River and started throwing Jerks and Cranks on a point leading into long deep cove. worked our way to the back and down the other side thowing a little bit of every thing. Not a bite !
Without any real game plan we kept working our way around to the next slough. The cove was typical Norris rock .and more rock. as we moved on around, the bank changed to a red clay with scattered large rock on flatter terrain . Threw jerks till my arm was about to fall off. Finally saw a nice keeper LM that followed my LC Jerk all the way to the boat with his nose about 2 inches behind the bait. But wouldn`t take it. This is probably the most maddening thing about Norris. My whole life of fishing this lake, that is so common. See more follows that actual catches. The durn water is so clear.
Now that a fish sighting was confirmed we backed up a little and tried several different things to no avail. Worked our way on around to a flat red mud point that dropped to about 20 ft within a few feet and I caught the Smallie on a XR 50 in what I call a bream color top and kinda translucent mid and bottom side. Wore the point out while fighting the wind but couldn`t get another bite.
Jumped across to another windblown point and I got a hit a ways down from the point. I told Dave I just got a good hit on the SK deep diver and about that time he hit it again and got the little spot in the boat. Tried a couple more spots that looked similar on the map with no luck. I caught the only 2 bites I had all day and I don`t think Dave ever did get a for sure bite.
Tough fishing on a nice day to be out on the water.
Kind of anemic report after seeing the reports from G-Ville ,Chic & the Nick.
There was another group fishing TX at same time and they had about 6#s to win so it was tough for everybody I guess.
I will be curious to see what the BAIT TX at Point 19 brought to weigh in !

Yeah ...it`s a never know what will happen situation....we`ve been doing this Tx for about 15 years and some years there will be 10 +# and one year we had to give the money back because about dozen boats didn`t have even one keeper.
It is Challenging !

Snuffy, you could fish a good lake in March and leave Norris till April/May when the good fish bite. Say, anything south of Watts Bar.emoPoke

yeah your right there Gruffey.....tried to get them to the Chic but you know how they are about Dayton and the low water.
Did finally get them to go to Chester Frost this year though....
Baby steps you know...some of `em whinin` about the extra 20 minutes down there!!!

Glad to hear about Chester Frost, watch the left side of the ramp and the hump on the left on your way out to the main channel. The hump is shown on the map but a lot of people miss it....(on the map)
