Great Forum! Thanks to David for taking the time and effort to put this together for all of us to enjoy and share some stories and give away a few secrets in the interest of anglers everywhere.

I don’t have a tremendous tale to tell yet this year, but I did stop by the shores of the Tennessee river a couple of weeks ago to do some bank fishing. After a day full of tiring banter and whiny employees at work, I took the scenic route home and swung by one of my favorite spots along the rocks on the bank of the river at the intersection of Armstrong Rd. bridge and Hixson Pike in Soddy Daisy. I cast my lure along with my troubles from the day into the water in front of a small thoroughfare or tunnel that goes under Hixson Pike to an adjoining creek off the river. I was using a pink headed weighted jig with a garlic/salt covered 3X Strike King floating worm http://www.strikeking.com/journal/journal049-1.shtml

On the 3rd cast, my lure landed in the same spot as the first two, I took about three turns on the crank in a slow dancing retrieve and Wham! My ultra light seemed to react on its own and the hook went into autoset as the drag started whining even more than my employees did the whole day. After a quick adjust, I landed a great little small mouth, about two lbs. Not real big, but a fun fight. After another 20 minutes or so, instant replay. I only got me a couple this time out, both smallmouth, but not bad for a quick 35 minute stop on my way home. As a side note, my son and I caught about a dozen near this same spot last year.

That’s all I have for now, but thanks again David…..I think this site is a great addition to the community.

Thanks for that great report BJ! Nothing like catching some smallies to forget about a hard day at work. Makes me want to go tonight myself! Next time you have a whiny employee come into your office, throw em a couple garlic 'n salt floating worms to chew on and tell them they are lucky to have a job! emoLaugh
