Parksville lake of course
Hey guys, I was wondering (as you can see in the picture) why do all the spotted bass that I catch at Parksville always have 6-8 little dots, or holes around the lower lip?

Heres a picture of my last fish that I caught up there...

Good question...

I was told all spotted bass have those and that its the best way to identify them. I used to just check for the toothpatch on the tongue, but I've caught several largemouth (in Parksville) with tooth patches.

BASS uses only the jawline of the fish to judge the difference. If the jaw hinges behind the eye, its a largie. If it hinges at the eye, its a spot.

Do not know about the spots on bottom though....
