Well took my son back during the first juvi hunt.Long day an didn't see a thing. He hadn't got to
go again until this afternoon.I decided shoot I already killed one so I'd just go set an let him hunt.Boy was that a good ideal. We got in the woods around 4. Well round 5:15 hit hits me on the leg an says deer I said ok where cause the way I was sittin I couldnt see where he was lookin so I said get your gun up.Well he did an bout that time he got to where I could see it but without my gun an scope I couldn't tell what it was so I asked any horns he just nodded yes an then BOOM he dropped him dead in his tracks. He made a great shot deer didn't move a inch.
We got up an calmed down for a minute. Then went to see what he got.Holy $@*# it's a big 8 point now he is really excited an so am I. So I give him a hung an a shake his hand an tell him congrats on his deer.He says thanks dad this is great emoBigsmile Then says you do know you said you would have my first one mounted if it was a good one.I said oh yes gladly. All in all a great thing to see him kill his first one now all I have to do is pick up the tab emoDoh But its worth it an so is he.Try to put pics on later

Great report and building memories. Congrats to your son.....and you! emoThumbsup

Heck ya! That is great. I'd say that hunt will stick with you probably better then any you have experienced by yourself.

good deal, my dad told me the same thing you get a good buck and I will have it mounted for you so back in 1993 I got my best buck a 10 pointer and 175 dollars latter he is still on the wall I heard its about 350 dollars to get one mounted now

awesome. my 4 year old reeled in his first bass the other day all by himself, so i kinda know how you feel. i can't wait for that first deer. i'm gonna try to told him off a few more years if i can.

finally figured how to add the pic

Jake up near Watts Bar told me 280.
I added pics on a new thread under same title for those who wanted to see it.

That's who I use to do all my mounts. He does good work and he will stand behind it.

that cool congrats. I have a similar story. Me and my son went on the juvy hunt and had a young buck chase a doe right to us that morning. the doe got about 10 yards from our ground blind and the spike got about 15 to 20 yards away. he had to wait to shoot cause the doe was in his way. he shot and scared the piss out of that buck never seen a deer jump so high. I thought he hit him cause when he turned to run he stumble and almost feel over. well we waited a few mins and got looking around for blood and hair could not find nothing. even walked the trail and found nothing. well the morning was shot after we walked all over the woods looking. so we came back that afternoon and right at dark 645 pm a doe came in she spotted us because i had to wake up my son from his nap the only problem was his foot was out of the blind and when he woke up he brought his foot back in and that is how we got busted. she ran off and he was mad. well a few min later she came back and still was leary about the situation now it is 654 pm could barely make her out I ask him if he could see her and he said yes I told him to take the shot and he did dropped her at 56 yards broke her back. good memories and times that is one that i will be able to take to grave. now i am waiting for the taxadermy to go get his deer.
