south chick creek below chick dam

Has anyone fished deep in the back of the south chick creek below the chickamauga dam either by boat or or by Kayak?? how have you done? i have seen a couple of boats race to the back and about 10 min later see them coming back out. just wandering if its worth it.

I don't know where the "back" is but the closer you get to the bonny oaks bridge, the more shallow it gets..
