Well I waited until around noon to brave the elements today and boy was I glad I did. Started off on a bluff wall that I caught a couple off of last week with the intentions of fishing it with a jerkbait and a crankbait....thinking that the fish would probably be deeper due to the colder weather. It was difficult trying to fish the jerkbait and crankbait due to all the debris the wind had stirred up, was able to pick up the first spot of the day off of a smallie beaver. Moved on into a shallower pocket where I saw the other 3 boats that were fishing today(all that water and they just have to fish where I want to!!!!). I picked up a fluke to throw, thinking there was no possibility that the fish would bite it today, but boy was I wrong. I ended the day with 18 fish....16 of which were SPAATS, all except one were caught on a fluke. Had 1 spat around 2.5 lbs and another around 2, figured my best 5 would have gone around 8 lbs today, not a big sack by anymeans, but on a day like today I was stoked. Water temperature was around 63°, which was around 7° cooler than last week, but I saw 75% of the fish I caught bite the fluke and pulled it out of several mores mouth. I'm hoping they will cooperate tommorrow, b/c I'm going to try it again. carl
