Spawn sand bass fishing from a kayak

When I was young we used to chase the sand bass up in creeks off of the local lake during spawn. It was some of the best fishing of the year, we would catch so many using Little George's that we could barely carry them out. I was thinking the kayak would be the perfect tool to get back in some of these smallish creeks, the question is: Where would be the best place to find them during spawn? Do they head up river and then up creeks? I'm over in the Riceville area not far from the hiwassee but can travel. Thanks

I had to look up what a sand bass was... According to Google it is also known as a white bass. The best action I have had for white bass has been in grasshopper creek. But I imagine they are pretty much everywhere on the chick.

BUT... just to qualify my post... I suck at catching... great at fishing.
