Bass Pro Shops at Opry Mills, with it's special co-sponsors Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, Costa Del Mar sunglasses, the Texas Roadhouse and GLoomis, continues its monthly music series, bringing together music, fishing and the great outdoors, with a special Christmas focus on Thursday, December 18, 2008 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
This month’s special outdoor segment guest will be Texas Roadhouse sponsored professional bass fisherman Mike Delvisco who, in keeping with the “Back to Basics” theme of these events, will feature some the best holiday gifts for the beginner bass angler.
Hosts Gary Shiebler and Mike Baker of the World’s Greatest Fishing Band return to welcome legendary country star, Bobby Bare, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter James House, renowned fiddler Deanie Richardson with two of her best young bluegrass groups from her music school, The Main Stage and newcomer Jaclyn North. In addition, Texas Roadhouse and their popular mascot, Andy the Armadillo, will be serving up samples of their finest fare at the free event, and fans will have a chance to win some fantastic prizes, including a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses.
Bobby Bare is one of country music’s most renowned and respected singer-songwriters. With numerous top ten hits including "Detroit City" and "Marie Laveau", his easy going style and sense of humor make him a crowd favorite at the Bass Pro Shop shows. He is currently working on a Shel Silverstein tribute CD with his son, Bobby Bare Jr.
James House’s Days Gone By album yielded the hits “This Is Me Missing You,” and “Little By Little,” and he received a Grammy nomination for writing “Ain’t that Lonely Yet” for Dwight Yoakam and received a CMA “Song of the Year” nomination for co-writing Martina McBride’s smash “Broken Wing.” His latest release, On This Christmas Night, features seven new Christmas songs and five classics, including the upbeat duet with Jose Feliciano “Santa Goes To Mexico.”
Aside from her work with such country stars as Vince Gill and Patty Loveless, fiddler Deanie Richardson is also co-founder of “The Main Stage” music school in Springfield, TN. Her two bluegrass groups, “Green on the Vyne” and the 9-11 year old “Sprouts” showcase some of the best students from her school.
Singer/songwriter Jaclyn North made the move from her native Dallas to Nashville last year and has since become a fixture at writer’s nights and local performance venues. Her unique vocal stylings and from-the-heart original songs delight fans from across the country.
